Only three months before the highly anticipated Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Festival, the fourth annual Passion 4 Pinot Palm Springs event was a resounding success, drawing comparisons to the esteemed World of Pinot Noir (WOPN) event while carving out its own unique niche in the wine event landscape. This event takes place in the desert oasis of Palm Springs, and provides an ideal winter setting for Pinot Noir lovers from across the country to indulge in their passion for this beloved varietal.
We love the timing of this event because it is only three months before the highly anticipated Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Festival. We have to admit that the fourth annual Passion 4 Pinot Palm Springs event was a great success, drawing comparisons to the esteemed World of Pinot Noir (WOPN) event while carving out its’ own unique niche in the options of larger wine events.
For small Anderson Valley wineries like Brashley Vineyards, Lussier Wine Corp., Fathers + Daughters Cellars, Calstar Cellars, Murder Ridge, Texture Wines, Black Kite Cellars, Cobb Wines, and Maggy Hawk, the event represented a great opportunity to showcase their boutique wines to a discerning audience. Unlike larger, more heavily marketed wineries, these smaller producers were able to shine and create meaningful connections with attendees who appreciated their craftsmanship and time spent to attend the event.
Event producers David and Lynn Fraschetti went the extra mile to curate an experience where the “little guys” have a strong representation in the presenting wineries. Through a carefully crafted lineup of focused wine seminars, intimate winemaker dinners, and a Grand Tasting featuring a diverse array of Pinot Noirs, Passion 4 Pinot Palm Springs really does cater to all Pinot Noir consumers.
The best part about this event for those of us attending from wine country is that Avelo Airlines’ has launched direct flights from nearby Santa Rosa to Palm Springs. This convenient travel option not only made it easier for winemakers and wineries to attend but also provided wine enthusiasts with a hassle-free way to explore both wine country and the vibrant culture of Palm Springs. Anderson Valley is only an hour away from the Santa Rosa airport, so Palm Springs guests can now see an easy way for themselves to visit Anderson Valley and see why our wine region is so beloved.
The fourth annual Passion 4 Pinot Palm Springs event delivered on its promise of providing a dynamic platform for small wineries to shine, while offering attendees a delightful escape to wine country in the heart of Palm Springs. While we absolutely love the event, we humbly believe that the Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Festival, now in its 25th year, is still the best place to discover the breadth of California’s best Pinot Noir producers. But we might be slightly biased in this option 😉
