Situated on the steep, redwood-framed ridges of the historic Holmes Ranch in Philo, RSM Vineyard (Rex Scott McClellan Vineyard) is a distinguished 7.5-acre estate recognized for producing exceptional cool-climate Pinot Noir. Its elevated hillside location, surrounded by towering redwoods and influenced by Anderson Valley’s maritime climate, creates a unique terroir that contributes to the vineyard’s outstanding fruit quality.

Certified organic and carefully maintained through hands-on vineyard management, RSM Vineyard reflects a deep commitment to sustainable viticulture and environmental stewardship. The site was originally planted by Anderson Valley pioneer Milla Handley, whose vision helped establish the vineyard as one of the region’s most respected sources of premium Pinot Noir fruit.

The vineyard’s cold microclimate, steep terrain, and well-drained soils naturally limit vine vigor and yields, encouraging the vines to focus their energy on producing smaller clusters with intense flavor concentration. This extended growing season allows the grapes to develop exceptional complexity, balanced acidity, and a strong expression of place.
