High-Altitude Ridge Line Expansion in Anderson Valley
Founders Justin and Karin Warnelius-Miller expanded from Alexander Valley to establish a stunning 5-acre Pinot Noir planting at the Golden Fleece vineyard in 2015 on steep slopes
Famed for their estate in Sonoma’s Alexander Valley, winegrowers Karin and Justin Warnelius-Miller expanded their vision into Anderson Valley.
In 2014, they acquired a long-term lease on the historic and long-abandoned Golden Fleece vineyard in Philo, replanting it in 2015.
Located on steep, rocky hillsides of Bearwallow-Wolfey soils, the 5-acre vineyard required specialized crawler tractors to clear and cultivate.
Planted to classic Dijon and Calera clones of Pinot Noir, this high-altitude, cold site produces fruit of remarkable structural depth and varietal complexity under their label WärneliusMiller.
