Full Description

The historic Apple Barn Vineyard is located in the southern portion of Boonville, directly across the street from Annahala Vineyard, on the site of a former apple orchard along the banks of Anderson Creek. Planted in 2001, this 46-acre estate is owned and farmed by Cakebread Cellars, combining a rich agricultural legacy with premium viticultural practices.

Unlike many of its cooler neighboring vineyards, Apple Barn benefits from extended afternoon sunlight, creating a slightly warmer growing environment within Anderson Valley’s cool-climate region. This unique microclimate encourages optimal ripening while preserving the freshness and balance that define the area’s most distinctive wines.

The vineyard is dedicated to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, producing fruit with remarkable depth, structure, and concentration. The combination of historic orchard soils, creek-side influences, and abundant afternoon sun results in bold, expressive wines that showcase both power and elegance, making Apple Barn Vineyard a standout source for premium Anderson Valley fruit.
